Adventure Race Training Class Open to Members

Adventure Race Training at CrossFit and Fearless will be a combination of CrossFit Endurance Training and POSE running drills, which will prepare you to compete on your own or with the Fit and Fearless team in Austin. This class is open to all members and anyone registered for an upcoming adventure race.

We have seen phenomenal success in obstacle and adventure racing both from our athletes and our staff using CrossFit training methodologies. CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program designed around a level of fitness that lends itself to any athletic endeavor. Another way to describe it is preparation for the unknown and unknowable. This fitness has very clear applications to sport, combat, emergencies, and of course obstacle racing. You never know what’s coming around the corner, but you can know that you’re ready for it anyway.

Our Adventure Racing Training is a heavy dose of CrossFit, POSE Running, and CrossFit Endurance training. We will train in full range of motion functional movements, or movements which incorporate multiple joints, follow a full motor recruitment pattern, and have a real world application. We will train at high intensities. Long, slow, distance training only makes a long, slow distance runner. We will target running somewhat, but we will not be racking up mile after endless mile—not only is that boring, it isn’t helpful either. Lastly, our training will vary constantly. If your training is routine then you’re only getting good at one routine. Each week promises to bring a new and exciting workout to challenge your body and your mental fortitude to prepare you for anything.

Space is limited so sign up for class each Saturday you are attending to secure your spot!

WoD :: NYE :: 9AM

Our New Year's Eve WoD Challenge was an amazing end to a great year!

We had 5 heats of 5 athletes, plus a coaches' heat. Including onlookers, we had about 40 in attendance. Athletes were judged in the first event on their ability to control external objects and their own body weight in a dynamic environment. In seven minutes, the athletes were taxed in every metabolic pathway and were left completely gassed. In the second event, athletes were judged on quickness and raw strength. They had ten minutes to take a weight from the ground to overhead with as heavy a weight as possible.

This event was great! Our athletes showed competence of the movement that far exceeds what they could do a year ago and was an impressive display of CrossFit and Fearless' movement standards. Fit and Fearless is incredibly proud of everyone who came out.
