Here is where I'll file class reports - updates on what we've done in class. You'll find out what you missed if you weren't in class that day, or what you can expect if you're a new or prospective student.

Ladies-Only Krav Maga with Parker

Today we took the techniques we know & put them in context. We addressed what happens to our bodies and minds during an adrenaline dump, and how we can avoid some of the potentially disastrous effects of the experience. We learned to quickly escalate the violence and aggression of our defense against a persistent attacker, to verbally dissuade a creep from becoming an attacker, and how to disobey a direct order from an attacker, defend, and escape. For the first time we had males in the classroom, something I usually won't permit. Thanks so much to Matt and Christian, who were the best creeps ever. It was fascinating watching the ladies fight through flashes of fear and frustration and learn to really fight back and take control. Awesome class, I'm so proud of you all!!

Mr. Tabata must have been a dreadful person. Seriously. We started with a run, tire flips, tire drags (coolest exercise ever!), squats, & inchworms. Then on to Tabata wall balls, box jumps, sumo deadlift highpulls, and push press. Then we rowed 1000 meters. Today was one of those days when I just didn't have it & I struggled through the entire workout, but never quit. That's what CrossFit does for you. It teaches you how to suffer and fight through it. So its good even when its bad. At least that's what I keep telling myself!

I love banging on the tractor tires with the sledgehammer. There's just something so satisfying about it, and today we got to do it! We also did a cool workout, very simple, that consisted of just 2 exercises. (No, I'm not counting the warmup. No need to be a smarty-pants.) Overhead squats, an awesome full-body technique, followed by burpee/boxjumps, for 21,15, & 9 reps. Cool. Welcome, Amanda, it was great to see you this morning, and thanks for bringing the cooler temperatures!
