A Few of My Favorite Things
The only thing truly necessary to have a successful training session today is a willingness to push yourself beyond what you could do yesterday. That being said, I have a fond affection for stuff, and over the years have found several things that make my training sessions more efficient, more pleasant, or just plain better.
The 10 glowing reviews below are not necessarily the views of the other staff or owners of Fit and Fearless – I just happen to like them personally and thought you might like them, too.
Its Never Too Early To Punch Something
The 6:15 a.m. Combatives & Conditioning class is growing! Come join us & you, too, can have fun while punching things and yelling at people. Improve your skills while you improve your chances of having an awesome day! Here you see Jason M., who tried to hide because he didn't want to do the drill. No, wait...that was the drill! That was the morning we dug ourselves out from a sheet & hostage hood, combat crawled to BOB the dummy & beat his face in while we ourselves were attacked, avoided being attacked with the medicine ball, ran to a pad & kicked it like crazy, then ran to another pad & destroyed it with knees. All in under 47 seconds! Come get exhausted with us every Monday and Wednesday morning!
The Newness Factor
Beginning students often feel nervous just coming to class. This is normal - after all you're in a strange place doing strange things with strangers. Newbies, please know that everyone feels this way from time to time! Click on this link to see a brief and very interesting blog entry on this subject by John Whitman. John, who will be teaching at the Reality Strikes seminar in April, is one of the highest ranked (and most highly regarded) Kravists in the country. Heath once told me I would be 20% better just by breathing John's air. He was right. But click the link and see what happens when what's old becomes new:

Taking The Level 1 Test? Sign Up Now!
If you would like to take the level 1 test on March 6, 2010, the time to get your Permission to Test form signed & pay for the test is now.
You may have noticed we have cancelled some scheduled tests in the past. This is because we need a minimum of around 6 signed up to hold the test. So if you were planning on waiting until the day of the test to sign up, don't. If you're unsure whether you're ready to test, ask your instructor. Better yet, ask me! I love to tell people what I think! And I think you need to sign up & test!

Bar Fought!
Our long awaited bar fight seminar was held last night & it was awesome! We fought in the bar, we fought upstairs, we fought in the alley. I finally got my chance to slam Ron Grobman's head into a bar. It was so much fun!
2 best moments for me: 1 - Looking down on the action from upstairs & being immediately reminded of a huge saloon brawl in an old western movie. 2 - Groundfighting on the sticky filthy concrete floor of the bar. I've told my students in class how important it is to stay off the ground, that its painful to fight on concrete. Now I KNOW. It's painful to fight on concrete, y'all! Stay on your feet!
Pics and video will be up on the site as soon as they become available.
Many, many thanks to Wayne and Kersten for throwing such a fun and illuminating ball/brawl. We can't wait to do it again!

Miss fight class? Not for long! Krav Maga Worldwide's new Fit to Fight program is coming soon to Fit and Fearless! Fit to Fight is a system based on movement, not moves (get it?) and this fun new fight class will soon be a part of the regular class schedule. So keep those gloves dusted off, because you're going to need them soon...
Yes, We’re Crazy, Thanks For Asking
The new 6:15 a.m. Combatives and Conditioning class begins this Monday, January 18 at, um, 6:15 a.m. Class will be held every Monday and Wednesday morning. Come get your training in before work, then lord it over everybody how totally awesome you are! See you there!
Thanks to YOU!
As 2009 draws to a close, the instructors, coaches, and staff at Fit and Fearless would like to thank you for continuing to train with us. We ask a lot from you in every session, and you never let us down. It is an enormous pleasure to watch you grow stronger, faster, and fiercer with every class.
When you train in Krav Maga and CrossFit, you are doing more than getting a stronger body – you are strengthening your will and your ability to succeed. Every time you struggle past an obstacle that stopped you before, every time you work through a fear you succumbed to in the past, you grow more powerful and capable in every area of your life. This is true whether its doing proper box jumps when you used to step up on the box, or whether you really close your eyes now in self defense drills when you used to peek.
We see you getting stronger and braver with every class, and we're so happy and proud to be a part of your journey. So, now that you've come this far, what will you accomplish in 2010? Here's to a sweaty new year, and a you that's stronger and more amazing than you ever thought you could be!
CrossFit Boot Camp! Super Awesome Fun Fat Destruction!
Hey, Kravists! We all know Krav Maga is a totally drenched-in-sweat face-searing crazy awesome workout. But wouldn't you like to take your fitness to the next level? Hmmmm?
Here's your chance:
Had my first class today, wow! I will definitely be back. That was great!…
