Charles Allen
It's never too late to become fit and strong.
Who’s that guy over there wearing jeans and a polo kicking the stuffing out of that pad? That would be Charles Allen, our latest Fit and Fearless success story! Charles prefers to train in street clothes because he reasons, “If I’m (attacked) on the street, that’s what I’ll be wearing.” Too true! With us since July of 2008, Charles came to Fit and Fearless after finding he was continually being injured while training in MMA elsewhere. Charles always trains hard, but he’s in it for the long haul, saying, “At 54, I look at it this way. If I can keep going when I’m 60 it’ll be great.”
In his life outside the studio, Charles owns a company called “Wet”, which supplies & services car washes. He has been married to his wife Cathy for 29 years, and together they have 2 kids and 7 grandkids.
In the studio, Charles has been busy transforming himself. Since becoming a member Charles has made tremendous progress. “Before I could do 5 pushups, now I can do 30! My daughters used to call me Daddy Anorexic, because I weighed 170 pounds when I started here. Now I weigh 189, and I still wear size 33 pants. At my age, it’s really good being around a bunch of young guys and keeping up with them. The guy who really motivates me the most is Wayne.”
Charles knows these kinds of results come only with buckets of sweat and dedication. He works hard every session and says when it’s over, “I’m hurting, I’m tired, but I feel like I’ve accomplished something.” And not all the changes have been on the outside. He’s stronger inside, too. “Now I feel comfortable walking away from a fight and I don’t see it as weakness.” That’s real strength.
