Jennie Trower
One Tough Mother
Allow us to introduce you to Jennie "The Emasculator" Trower. Jennie has been training at Fit & Fearless since 2002 and was one of our first students. Her previous training was in Chayon-ryu, a Korean style of karate heavily influenced by tae kwan do.She is a quality assurance supervisor at a local ad agency and an established event and portrait photographer. She was the bassist for a band – whose R-rated name shall go unmentioned here – and toured the west coast with Nirvana. But her favorite role is being Levi "Smash" Rosenthal's mom and leading the cheering section at her husband Mike's marathons.
She claims her favorite strike is the “mouth-of-hand,” but everyone knows the groin strike is her preferred move! Jennie says she loves that Krav Maga gives her the skills to defend herself. She says it has helped her get into the best shape of her life. And, she says she feels a real sense of community Fit & Fearless.
But perhaps the most unexpected benefit of her training was how it helped her during the difficult birth of Levi. She tells us, "It was an emergency situation and very, very scary and stressful. It took every ounce of physical, emotional and psychological strength I had. The nurses came around the next day and said that most women crumble in that situation. They were positive my Krav Maga training helped me through it." Way to go, Jennie!
